About us

The Calderdale Specialist Provision Cluster (SPC) brings together Calderdale's specialist schools, William Henry Smith Foundation, Ravenscliffe High School and Sports College, Highbury School and Wood Bank School to work in partnership with mainstream settings across the district.

We work closely with SENCOs, school leaders, teachers and wider staff teams, offering support that strengthens inclusive practice and builds confidence in meeting the needs of children and young people with SEND.

Our approach combines training, consultation and professional supervision based on shared expertise, to ensure that provision is both effective and sustainable - enabling pupils to thrive within their school communities.

Calderdale SPC has supported over 84 schools since 2022. The SPC offer is advertised via the Calderdale SEND Local Offer.

Face to face session

Our surgeries offer a valuable opportunity to access support, and while places are limited, we aim to provide timely guidance that can make a real difference. We understand that challenges don’t always arise on a predictable schedule, but these sessions are designed to help you feel supported as early as possible.

These consultations are particularly effective as an early intervention. They work best when used proactively - when a child is beginning to show signs of concern or when you feel unsure about how best to support them. There is no charge for this session.

We ask schools bring one case study to share and provoke discussion around the suitability of strategies, support and intervention.

Available on request by emailing [email protected].
